However, with conventional 6-axis robots, we almost always have the option to freely choose the robot configuration. In the case of a 7-axis robot, this is not possible — only one configuration option is shown (see the image in the attachment). Is it also possible to define the desired configuration in a similar way for a 7-axis robot? Best regards! Mitja

Is there already any information available as to why it is not possible to freely select configurations with a 7-axis robot, while 6-axis robots do not have this issue and the robot configuration can be freely determined? I have also attached an image above that illustrates this issue. Thank you and best regards, Mitja

7-axis robots like the Neura MAiRA PRO S robot use iterative inverse kinematics methods.
Alternatively, we could model this robot like the KUKA LBR IIWA attached which allows you to choose the angle of the arm using a slider right under the target pose. |
