"Axes optimization" item in calibration parameters

#1
Hello,

We use the calibration parameters reported by the RoboDK software (like accurate DH parameters) in our codes for the computation of IK/FK and path planning.

The calibration part of the software has this option "Axes optimization", and I couldn't figure out it's meaning/application and how to include it in the computation of FK/IK.

Based on the software reports, when the software optimize the Axes, the "Position Errors" and the "Distance Errors" are significantly lower.
I will be thankful if someone can provide some information about this option, and how I can include it in my own computations of IK and FK.

Thank you,
Hossein

Hi Hossein,

The "Axes optimization" is for external axes like linear rail and positioner.
If you just have the robot, you shouldn't have to activate that option.
