Best method to get manual points list with cobots and operator

Using a cobot (COBOTTA), I would like to know what do you recommend as method to record a list of target points ?
Can it be possible outside the API ? I thought to use a python script with the following steps :
  • Message to ask activate coop mode (direct modefor COBOTTA)
  • Select a tool and a reference frame according to your needs
  • Trigger a record every X second and place into a path or a list ?
What do you think ? Can you point me to scripts that I could use for that ?
