Comparison with simulation software from each robot manufacturer

#1
Please tell me about the subject. I am currently creating a program with RoboDK, but there are robot simulation software such as Yaskawa Electric's MotoSim and Fanuc's ROBOGUIDE.

I apologize for my lack of understanding, but is it necessary to verify the program created with RoboDK with each robot simulation software again?

I assume that people who use RoboDK are creating programs for various types of robots with RoboDK.

RoboDK allows you to simulate and program robot arms for robot manufacturing applications. With RoboDK you can generate robot programs for any robot controller. Including Yaskawa Motoman, Fanuc, etc.

Using post processors you can easily customize program generation in RoboDK.

If you have specific questions, feel free to ask.

Thank you for your reply. I would appreciate your advice on my thoughts.

I thought that RoboDK could replace Motosim and ROBOGUIDE because of its ease of use and programming, but are there areas where each simulation software excels and areas where it is difficult to handle?

What can be done with a simulation dedicated to robot manufacturers:
  • Detailed simulation of the connection between robots and peripheral devices (conveyors, jigs, etc.).
  • Complex operations such as signal exchange and interference checks can be simulated to reproduce conditions close to the actual production line.
  • Accurate calculation of cycle time. Cycle time can be accurately calculated by taking into account the robot's operation time and I/O processing time.
What can be done with RoboDK
  • Can handle any robot programming regardless of manufacturer.
  • Easy to link with various CAD software and can handle complex workflows.
  • Customization and function expansion for each user's purpose is possible with programming languages such as Python and C#.
This is how I imagine it. If there are situations where RoboDK is difficult to handle and a simulation software dedicated to robot manufacturers is needed, please tell me under what circumstances?

Detailed simulation of the connection and relationship between robots and peripheral devices (conveyors, jigs, etc.) can be done with RoboDK as well. This highly depends on each software.

For most applications or projects you should be able to use RoboDK for robot simulation and programming without having to involve other simulation software.

Let us know if you have specific questions.
