Curve Follow Project - Correct Tool Orientation?

#1
I'm having trouble getting a curve follow project working correctly.

I have generated a curve in Solidworks (sketch projected) to sand a "U" shaped wooden piece. I'm trying to sand the internal of the U shape, so the sanding tool needs to always point towards the face of the product.

The curve, when imported to roboDK has all the orientation arrows pointing straight up, rather than pointing 90degrees from the face, hence the sanding face is always perpendicular to ground and not perpendicular to the product face.

Is this an issue with curve generation from Solidworks or in roboDK?

I did have another sanding project where my curve was correct (see 3rd attachment), but not sure what I've done differently!

Did you select the curve and the surface when exporting the curve follow project into RoboDK from SolidWorks?

You should select both at the same time so the tool orientation is normal to the surface (at 90 deg with respect to the path tangent).

Ah yes, now I remember! I wasn't selecting the face, only the curve... Thank you!
