How to block a robot joint

Hi!
I am currently working with a 6 DOF robot, specifically GSK RH06 but physically my robot cant move joint 1 (the base) because of a mechanical problem, is there any way to make my code only reliant on the other 5 joints? Or is there any way to block joint 1.

To block the movement of one joint you can change the limits of that joint to minimize or block the movement. For example, you can set the maximum and minimum limits to 0 deg.
