Online with Comau C5G controller

#1
Has anyone had success connecting to a Comau robot and getting the current position?  I am able to ping the default IP 192.168.29.2, but the I don't know what port to connect to.  Any suggestions?

Hi, I also encountered the same issue. Did you manage to solve it? Thanks

You should contact us by email to get access to our Comau driver. The Comau driver requires you to transfer the PDL or COD driver file to the controller before you can connect from RoboDK.

You can follow these instructions to set up the Comau driver for RoboDK:
  1. Transfer the RoboDKdriver.pdl file to the robot
  2. Run the file on the robot (converts the robot into a server)
  3. Connect to the robot from RoboDK
The communication port used by default is 1102 but it can be changed in RoboDKdriver.pdl file.

Hi Albert,
Thanks for your quick reply. I think I got the Comau driver file RoboDKdrive.pdl now and transfer it to robot teach pendant and then translate it into RoboDKdrive.cod. However, when I tried to run it, it shows error as the image I attached: error 40040/4: RoboDKdriver(101)/; DV_CNTRL operation error 30971. how should I sovle it? Thanks!

You may need a special option on the Comau controller to use the DV_CTRL function.

Do you have any ideas about my next step? Thanks a lot!

I recommend you to contact your local Comau representative to see how to add this option to your robot controller.

I don't have a local Comau representative, could you please tell what content and where to add this option?

I believe this is something you should pay for, like a product sold by Comau. Or this could simply be something that is supported on more recent controllers.
