Post Processor Dobot CR5

#1
Hi all,

Is it possible to get an uncompiled copy of de Dobot - post processor?

We're currently evaluating different cobots for our company and it's very important for us that the cobot works well with RoboDK. We noticed Dobot has a post-processor but it looks like it is made for the magician rather then the CR5.

If we can look into the processor code we can get a better idea of how well that would translate to the dobot, but I can only find the compiled bytecode files on python. Is there any chance we can access the normal files?

Thanks in advance for your efforts,

Kind regards,

Koen

PS: If you have any experience with working with the dobot CR5 we'd be interested to hear about that as well. There were some forum threads but they seem rather inconclusive...

Hi Koen,

We are currently working on our Dobot CR integration.
It's not finished yet, unfortunately.

Hi Jeremy,

Nice to hear that you're working on it.
Do you have a rough estimate on the order of magnitude of how long that will take (days, weeks, months, or years) ?

Hard to say, it's not a huge task, could be done in a week.

The problem is "when" can we find a week... About half of it is done.

Hey Jeremy,

Thanks for the honest and realistic answer. We are very familiar with the 'finding a week' issues as well so we're happy to have clarity on the status.
For now this post-processor is not a blocker for any of our projects, if it does become one we may be interested to do some collaboration and see if we can create an extra week.

For now thanks for the information, and we're looking forward to start using the CR5 with the post-processor!

Kind regards,

Koen

Great.

You can poke this thread any now and then to see if there's any progress in case I forgot to update you.
