RoboDK cloud collaboration environment

#1
It would be really nice if RoboDK had some cloud enabled and simultaneous working enabled featires. It will be of great help to remote teams giving real time inputs to the in house engineers preparing the simulations.

Thank you for your feedback. Can you better specify what you mean by real time inputs? Would something like RoboDK for Web with a collaborative environment be a good starting point?

Should we assume this would work only if everyone has a fast and stable internet connection?

What i envisioned was that - the design team is working on the simulation and the project team can monitor it or change it and see the changes happen like you can while working on google docs and sheets. Yes this will require a decent speed net connection to be able to edit the files.

Scenario 1: in a case where two engineers are working on one project remotely, they can have better data coordination without having to change the station every time.

Scenario 2: during a customer review he suggests changes to a cell in the robot path, and his inputs are required after every iteration, instead of sending the updated station everytime, he can just get the viewer and watch the robot path update as soon as the licence holder hits sync.(Instead of uploading a new file each time, he can correct an error as soon as he sees it.)

Scenario 3: during processes like virtual commissioning, if some updated cad files have to be loaded to the station from a pc with a cad licence that can be done and the on site representative can see the canges being implemented faster

The initial solution i would suggest is a sync to cloud button, which updates the station on a server and a shareable link which can access the station on a client pc, and permitted to view and provide his comments in a chat area or if he is a valid licence holder, to edit the same station and keep it updated. The licence holder hits a sync button and the other accessees can view or edit the updated station depending on whether they have a robodk licence or not. After updating, they hit the sync button and the others can see the changes and comments reflected in their station.Taking siemens process simulate on team center, google docs and sheets or simple onedrive uploads as my inspiration here..

RoboDK for web with a collaborative environment would work at the start, but there should be an on-demand data exchange (like a sync to web link button) so that standalone licence holders can get on the online loop.

Thank you for your feedback.

We'll consider this for future improvements.
