You should follow these steps to install the dependencies of any add-in (such as the Shape add-in):
  1. Select Tools-Add-in Manager
  2. Locate the add-in
  3. Click on Actions
  4. Select Install requirements...

I'd like to know if there's a way to modify the dimensions of any shape once I've created it.

It is currently not possible to modify the dimensions of a shape created using the Shape add-in once you have closed the Add-in window. However, you can delete the object and create a new one.

Thank you for the information. It would be interesting to have the possibility to change dimensions one it is created. 
Maybe it could be an improvement for next realeases.
