Transparent Working Area on Ubuntu 24.10 (RoboDK 5.8.0)

#1
I am experiencing an issue where the RoboDK working area appears transparent (blank background). I’m running Ubuntu 24.10 (x86_64) with RoboDK 5.8.0 (trial version). The issue persists despite following installation instructions and verifying dependencies.
System Configuration:
  • OS: Ubuntu 24.10 (x86_64)
  • RoboDK Version: 5.8.0
  • Python Version: 3.12.6
  • QMake version 3.1
  • Qt version 5.15.15

Did you ever install RoboDK before? Are you using the default settings?

I recommend you to try using the default settings by following these steps:
  1. Select Tools-Options
  2. Select Set default settings
  3. Close RoboDK and open again

I have not used RoboDK on Ubuntu before. As advised, I restarted with default settings by selecting Tools > Options > Set default settings, then closed and reopened RoboDK. Unfortunately, the issue remains the same—I'm still seeing a transparent, empty workspace.

We just updated RoboDK for Ubuntu. Could you try with the latest version?

You can download the latest version of RoboDK here:

same issue persists even after installing new version.

To debug this issue better it would help if you can follow these steps:
  1. Close RoboDK
  2. Start RoboDK by double clicking the file:
    C:/RoboDK/RoboDK-Debug.bat
(On Linux it would actually be the file: ~/RoboDK/RoboDK-Start-Debug.sh )
  3. Try to reproduce the problem in RoboDK.
  4. Right after the crash, send me this file:
    C:/RoboDK/bin/RoboDK.debug.txt
(on Linux, you may see this on the console you used to run the SH file)
