Using a robot for probe type measuring

#1
Using a robot for probe type measuring. We will be recovering an old fanuc robot and I would like to investigate the possibility of using it a CMM.

Has anyone seen this done and if so what are the suppliers.

Thanks, Mike

You should be able to use a robot for probing using a touch probe using the probing add-in:
https://robodk.com/addin/com.robodk.app.probing
This should allow you to accurately locate parts and update its coordinate system to match the virtual setup with your real setup.

It is better if you contact us through our contact form so we can better help you. The probing app may require help to integrate it for a custom application.

Thanks, that is good news. It seemed highly likely that if I could program points to cut, I cout program points to measure. It was mostly on how to collect the probe data for analysis. I was thinking of using something wireless.

thanks again for your reply, Mike
