Build Mechanism Motion and CAD behavior

#1
I may have found a bug with the Build Mechanism function in V6.0.4. I can correctly preview the motion when building my mechanism, after I press ok, the CAD objects I have selected change, e.g. my x motion statge becomes the y motion stage, and the directions are incorrect. I have tested the same CAD data and the same settings on version 5.8.0, and the motion and CAD are correct.

Attached are the files I used for testing, and photos of the errors.

When you are building the mechanism it offsets by 1000 mm by default to make sure you don't preview the movements of the mechanism in the same area of your 3D models.

Also, the base frame rotates around the Y axis by 90 deg by default. You can set this to zero if you prefer to match exactly with your DHM table.

Hello,
Thank you for response. My apologies for the same topic in two forums. I understand the base shift, resolved thanks.
Yes, this mechanism has a 90° Ha base shift in the Y-axis to create the correct movement. The issue is the preview motion and CAD does not match after 'OK' is pressed. With the settings above, the preview motion works in version 6.0.4 and 5.0.8 however with version 6.0.4, the motion stage changes X stage becomes the y stage, and the direction of travel changes from x+ to y-. this error is not present in version 5.0.8. I was able to successfully create the mechanism in 5.0.8 and load the mechanism in 6.0.4 but I cannot create the mechanism in 6.0.4.
Thanks again for the support. I am impressed at the progress the software has made since I first used it in 2018. Good job.
Tony
