Changing normal vector of the workpiece

#1
Hi

I am trying to machine a curved workpiece with concave and convex curvature. I created the 3D part in solidworks and imported to RobotDK. But the normal vectors are irregularly and hence the TCP cannot reach those locations as desired . How to reorganise the normal vectors so the TCP follows these points on the surface along their normals as shown in the attachment.

Hi plato303,

Did you use the RoboDK plugin for Solidworks to import your part/curve? If you did, you just have to select the curve AND the surface(s) you want your TCP to be normal with.

Always happy to help,

And don't worry, it's normal that you didn't know about RDK add-in for Solidworks. It's fairly new, we are officially releasing it at the moment.

We always try to find new ways to simplify the robot programming task, and, as a robot programmer myself, I really think that this plugin hit the target.
