Connecting an extruder tool to an imported CAD model

#1
Hello,

My name is Fahad Ahmad Khan and I am a student at KTH Royal Institute of Technology pursuing my masters in Production Engineering and Management. I am currently working on my master thesis project on the topic of Green Additive Manufacturing. In this project, I am trying to perform 3d printing by keeping the extruder stationary and providing all the necessary motions through an ABB IRB 120 robot. My question is it possible to connect an extruder tool to an imported CAD model rather than the robot and make the simulation work?

Hi Fahadak,

Yes, it's possible.
It won't be the easiest, but it can be done using the "robot holds object" features of RoboDK.

Can I find a tutorial on this? If you have any information about the tutorial which explains this process, kindly share. I will be really grateful

Hi Fahad,

3D printing: https://robodk.com/doc/en/Robot-Machining.html#Print3D

Remote TCP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YrepmoQt...7a&index=3

There's a lot of post on this forum regarding both subjects.
You should read through it.
