RoboDK Maintenance Agreement

#1
Hello
I have a Robodk License. But since it has been over a year, my maintenance contract has ended. Every time I open Robodk, a pop-up appears saying that my maintenance contract has ended and I am very annoyed by this. I use Robodk constantly during the day and I have to close and reopen it. Is there a way to prevent this other than "buying"?

Yes, you can avoid the popup to renew maintenance once your maintenance has expired and you don't want to renew by following these steps:
  1. Right click on the RoboDK shortcut (in your Desktop, start menu or your own shortcut)
  2. Select Properties
  3. Select the Shortcut tab
  4. You can add custom commands to your target:
    C:\RoboDK\bin\RoboDK.exe -SKIMPAINT
  5. Select OK

Albert, the conclusion of the thread you linked was that it is possible to avoid the maintenance reminder popup when starting RoboDK from the start menu. However, no solution was found that avoids the maintenance reminder popup when starting RoboDK by double-clicking a .rdk file.

I followed the instructions to configure the appropriate registry to include the -SKIPMAINT argument then restarted my computer, but the popup still occurred (see attached screenshot "reg-val.PNG").

I found a workaround, which is to create the attached batch* script, and save it to C:\RoboDK\. Then, .rdk files can be set to open with that batch script rather than one of the RoboDK executables (right-click on .rdk file > properties > opens with > change > select RoboDK-Start-SkipMaint.bat). The downside of this workaround is that the RoboDK logo is no longer the file icon and instead is just a blank file, similar to files with no extension. I find that to be about the same level of annoying as the maintenance popup.
*Upload of .bat files is not allowed, so I changed the extension to .txt.

In any case, this seems like something the RoboDK application should be able to handle for you.

Excellent! Thank you for letting us know about how to prevent the maintenance renewal popup when opening an RDK file.
