RoboDK with Comau Racer 5-0.80 and R1C

#1
Hello,

Our lab is currently tying to get a Comau Racer 5-0.80 running with RoboDK though a R1C. We:re aware we need a TCP/IP license from Comau to establish a connection but we wanted to double check if there was anything else we need to get the whole system up and running. Any insight into this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

You should make sure that the R1C controller firmware supports external communication via TCP/IP and that the appropriate communication parameters (IP address, port, etc.) are correctly configured on both the controller and within RoboDK.

Additionally, RoboDK requires the Comau robot driver to be properly set up. The setup involves running a PDL program on the Comau robot controller. This driver handles the communication protocol and commands specific to Comau robots.

You can find detailed information on how to set up and use Comau robots with RoboDK in our documentation here:
https://robodk.com/doc/en/Robots-Comau.html#ComauDriver

You should contact us by email to obtain the required files to run on the Comau robot controller.

You should still be able to generate programs for Comau robot controllers without the need of a TCP/IP connection. You can transfer PDF programs to the controller using a USB drive or using FTP.
