CRX-10iA/L "Move joints" does not work.

#1
Hello RoboDK team,

I am asking here on behalf of our customer.

What options are required for offline programming and online programming?

・FUNAC Robot CRX-10iA/L
・Controller R-30iB mini Plus

I have another question from the same customer.

The robot and the actual device are now connected.
The robot does not move with "Move Joints".
With "Get Position", the robot in the screen.

Look forward to your reply.
Best Regards,

Keisuke Sakai

I would say the same applies to the CRX series as to any other Fanuc series.

You can find the requirement here: https://robodk.com/doc/en/Robots-Fanuc.html#Fanuc

Dear Jeremy,

Thanks for the reply.

I followed the steps in https://robodk.com/doc/en/Robots-Fanuc.html#Fanuc and set it up.
However, it did not work.
The log is in the attached.

Is there something I am missing in the settings?
Do I need option "User Socket Messaging" and "PC Interface" to control the robot using the Robot Driver?

Best regards,
Keisuke Sakai

As mentioned in the link I previously provided, Yes you do need these options.

Quote:Note: This mode of operation requires the Fanuc software option User Socket Messaging and PC Interface (the Karel option is also required to run PC files). Alternatively, it is also possible to use the PCDK option (make sure to select the FanucPCDK driver).

Dear Jeremy,

Thanks for the reply.

I checked with Fanuc(Japan) about the options.
Fanuc said that there is no "PC Interface" option.
Can you please tell me the exact name of the option?
I heard that there is a "robot interface" option.

Also, is KAREL necessary?
What can I do with KAREL?

Best regards,
Keisuke Sakai

You need to be able to run .pc files, and for that, you need the Karel option.
That's why PC Interface is necessary.

Dear Keisuke,

The options should be PC Interface and User Socket Messaging as Jeremy mentioned. I see both options listed in the Fanuc official website:
https://www.fanucamerica.com/products/robots/software

More information here:
https://robodk.com/doc/en/Robots-Fanuc.html#DriverFanuc

Are you located in Japan? Maybe the name is different in Japanese?

Dear Keisuke,

To better clarify, these are the options needed:
  • Socket Messaging: R636
  • PC Interface: R641
  • You also need to be able to run Karel programs (PC program files). I've never seen a Fanuc robot not supporting PC files but I heard that in some countries this option is not available with the default setup. I think this is the name of the option that is required: KAREL Run-Time Env: J539
Let us know if you need to clarify anything else.

Albert
