Hello,
I have a old robot Motoman Sk6 equiped with a MRC controller.
Is this controller supported by RoboDK?
If yes, where can I find the postprocessor?
Thank you.
Best regards,
Cristian

Hi Cristian,
We never had the chance to test our software with an MRC controller, but I wouldn't be surprised that it works.
We already support old (and sometimes very old) controller from ABB, Fanuc and KUKA.
You can test it with your free trial version. I recommend you to start with the standard Motoman post processor.
It's possible that you controller model will need some modification to the post processor to include some JBI options.
If it's the case, we will help you with that part.
Have a good day.
Jeremy

Dears, were you able to communicate the ROBODK with the MRC controller?

You should not have any issues generating JBI program files for any Yaskawa Motoman robot.
I undrstand you want to use the driver? If so have you tried connecting to your robot controller? Do you see any error messages in the log?

Do you mean connecting the robot and RoboDK using RS232?

I mean sending JBI programs to the robot using the memory card, FTP, RS232 or any other method you used before.

I never used any method, I just got it for dirt cheap 😅 I have experience with CNC and all that, but not with robots. There is the "floppy disk" but there is no flippy disk reader 🤦♂️

If it is an old controller I recommend you to generate JBI programs and send them to the robot. This is robust with older Yaskawa Motoman robots, even if you have to work with a Floppy disk.
It may be best to get a floppy disk reader for $15-$30 so you can send programs to the robot.
