RoboDK vd DOBOT CR5

#1
Hello Team
Have you had any feedback on connecting a DOBOt CR5 with robodk?
If so, do you have the procedure for connecting or transferring the program
Thanks in advance

Hi Ned,

There is a DobotDriver in the folder "C:/RoboDK/api/Robot.
This means that it should be possible to connect to the robot.

I personally never tried it with a Dobot, but for other brands it's pretty much as simple as:
1- Right-click the robot -> "Connect to the robot".
2- Enter the right IP address and verify if you can "ping" the controller.**
3- Then "Connect".

**But the Dobot seems to be using a COM port (COM4) by default and not Ethernet IP.

Did you try that?

Hello Jeremy
We manage to get a connection with the CR5 DOBOT robot. But we are unable to move or transfer the program to the robot.
Can we organize a videoconference to help us ?
Thanks
Ned

Hello Ned, Hello Jeremy,

Can you explain how you established the connection to Dobot CR5 robot? Which port did you used? Should we need to set the Remote Control mode to "TCP/IP Secondary Development" in the Dobot Studio? Can Dobot Studio run in background while using robodk?

I am having issues (https://robodk.com/forum/Thread-Connecti...-CR5-robot) with Dobot CR5 connection, and unfortunately I also don't find any documentation regarding this anywhere in internet.

Could anyone guide me?
