Simulating 7th axis on robot arm

#1
Hi,

We have a Foundry robot which pours molten metal from the ladle. The ladle is mounted on T-arm and ladle rotates around the axis at the end. See the attached image. I would like to simulate that 7th axis and simulate pouring motion. Is there a template or simulation file I can follow.

This link shows example of it:  Rimrock® 7th Axis Ladle Robotic System

Thanks,

Manan

What do you mean by pouring motion? Dropping molten metal?

This example for 3D printing shows how you can simulate dropping material as the tool moves:

Do you have a RoboDK project file you can share?

Another option is to model this as a linear mechanism held by the robot (without synchronizing it with the robot).

Hi Albert,

Sorry for the late reply. I reviewed that 3D printing file; however, I do not think it is what I am looking for. Please see the attached .rdk file. It shows the rotation of ladle cup around the T-arm. What are the options to add that rotation motion in 7th axis? Ideally, it would be nice to add as 7th axis but it might be too difficult.

Thanks,

I understand you need the 7th axis only for display purposes? If so, you can add it as a custom mechanism for display purposes and create a custom script to control the angle.
