Surface scanning

#1
Hello there
I want to scan a flat piece of 100x100 mm with 5 mm intervals. Should I do it by adding a target point to each point. Is there a short method for this process.

You may try to use the Surface Pattern Generator Add-in (SPG):

Hello,

Do you have a tutorial for the Surface Pattern Generator?

I have a curved surface and its not easy to get good results.

Having trouble with the Reference frame orientation.

Thankyou.

This sample station shows how to use the surface pattern generator Addin:
https://robodk.com/example/Painting-with-KUKA-KR-5-arc

The scripts in the station perform the same operations you can do using the Addin's UI.

We'll try to better document the Surface Patter Generator Add-in in the documentation and let you know.

Hi Albert,

Thanks this is a little helpful. But I still need more instruction as my CAD part has curve in 2 directions and is orientated with 3 angles in space. I will keep playing around with the program and experimenting things to make some progress and get better results.
