5 axis robot

#11
Hi Ricardo,

You can simulate a 5 axis robot by making a 6 axis robot and locking out the extra axis, but instead of putting 0 in the axis limits, you can put a very small number so that RoboDK is able to solve the kinematics.

Note that this will enable the Alt + Left click movement of the robot in the x and z axis, but you will still need to move the J1 manually to "move" in the y axis.

I have a similar problem with the Mitsubishi RV-2AJ.
I am able to move it, but when I create a milling program its not able to calculate it.I like it to ignore the axis around the spindle which is a 90 degree offset to the robot head.

I tried a bit and didn't achieve better results than you.
RoboDK does not support custom 5 axis robot building, but it is worth the try.

Do you own a professional license? If it's the case, we can build it for you using our intern tools.

Hi Jeremy,

I have the same issue with my 5-axis robot arm. I built the robot by "locking" the 4th joint but I can't move it with Alt + Left click.

I own a professional license and I would like you to build the robot for me with your intern tools.

Best,
Filippo
