A: You need to start RoboDK with a special command line option using the license code or the rdklic file.
You should follow these steps if you want to automatically install RoboDK and setup the license:
Install-RoboDK-64-v5.3.0.exe /S
C:/RoboDK/bin/RoboDK.exe -NOUI "path-to-rdilic-file.rdklic" -QUIT C:/RoboDK/bin/RoboDK.exe -NOUI -LCMD=Network:H1111-2222-3333-4444-AAAA-BBBB-8888-9999 -QUIT
RoboDK should open and close silently behind the scenes and the machine settings should be saved automatically. Make sure to run these commands using Administrator privileges so the license settings are saved.
A: If you want to hide your Network license code to make sure that your users don't take the code and use it on other computers, you should use the Hidden version of the license (simply add an H at the beginning of your Network code).
A: No, you can simply install the new version of RoboDK on top of a previous/older RoboDK version.
A: You can uninstall RoboDK by running the uninstaller on Windows. Alternatively, you can deletete the RoboDK folder. You can also run this file first to delete custom settings (INI files in the user/programdata folder): C:/RoboDK/RoboDK-Set-Defaults.bat.
A: Network licenses are provided by default when purchasing a license online as they are easy to share and do not require a hardware device. However, we can provide USB dongle or Standalone licenses upon request.
A: Yes, a server license option can be provided on request. More information here: https://robodk.com/lic-server. You would need a special USB Dongle that allows you to setup this type of server license.
A: If you are still receiving the message that your license is being used on another computer and you cannot figure out which one, you will need to wait 30 days as the license will automatically deactivate if there is no activity. In the meantime, you can send an email to info@robodk.com to receive a temporary 30-day license until you are able to use your license again.
A: Yes, RoboDK collects data about usage if an internet connection is available and the software is allowed to communicate with the roboDK server (port 80).
You can prevent RoboDK from connecting to the internet by using the command line argument -SKIPCOM:
C:/RoboDK/bin/RoboDK.exe -SKIPCOM
